Does seem a little high. I've noticed a trend lately where a lot of the parts recyclers are posting inflated prices but then they accept offers. So the simple fact that he is "accepting best offers" on that indicates that he will accept less and probably doesn't expect to get the full $100.
On the other side of the coin, there are a lot of people who aren't interested in going to junkyards just to see if there might be a B truck there. And if so, will it have the part you need in decent condition. Some places may not even have junkyards around. So while most of us here are eager to go find treasures in the yard, many would prefer to spend their time doing other things and are willing to pay more than most us enthusiasts on the forums.
Also, I don't see many of the plastic intake pipes where the corrugated sections isn't trashed. If they are there at all, they're taped up with duct tape or some other patch job. So I'll bet somewhere somebody has purchased a truck where the previous owner took off the whole air cleaner (seen a few of those myself), and will be willing to pay up for a new assembly. Especially if they're in state with tough inspections standard and everything has got to look stock.
It would be kind of hard for me to invest over 1/3 the cost of a new Weber for an air cleaner for an OEM carb. If the existing carb is good, save the hundred on the air cleaner, sell the OEM carb for $100, and now you can get a brand new Weber for just a little more money!
