I just swapped my cluster for a tach cluster and it reads 217*** does anyone know how to roll it back or have a great good thread?

Also when I had the old cluster my check engine light wasnt on and on the new one its always on and wont go off. I didnt tamper with any wires just unplugged and plugged in the clips. Any ideas why this would happen?

Did you try the Malfunction Indicator Light wire swap, up under the dash on driver side? This comes on at set mileage intervals of 60K

Hmm no why does this happen is there something you need to replace/check at 60k? My old cluster had 116k on it and the light wasnt on

Supposed to change the Timing belt at 60K intervals - or at least inspect it. You hadn't reached the 120K mark on the old tach yet.

Here's a how to thread I found... Dan

Wow that right there was probly the single easiest thing ive ever done to this truck and the pictures wouldnt even show up i had to just deal with the description...

Well on to the odometer

I also have noticed that the fuel gauge always tells you how much gas you have on the new one. Is this normal for the tach ones? Or is the gauge messed up?

O and thats even if the key/truck is off

I can't answer that but it's not uncommon in other vehicles. I have a tachless cluster in my B and it doesn't stay "on" but my 97 Ranger does.
