quad cab importing questions

for those of you who have attempted,completed or looked into importing a quad cab from the countries that have them ive been told its cheaper to have it written paperwork wise as scrap metal. however i would think that would create a obvious flag of why would some one want scrap metal from any other country besides their own.

basically my questions are
how much is the cab costing you ?
how much is shipping from wherever it is to the united states?
issues you have come across?
anything you think i should know?
will the cab end up being shipped thru multiple companies/persons before getting to me?
how long does the cab sit in customs?
do i have to pick up at a local harbor/shipping port?

Whoever you contract (an agent) to import the piece would be able to answer all those questions. You are in Cali, I'd try finding someone who imports products (like bulk beads etc) to be your guide.
