Hi everyone,

It's been a while since my last post regarding for my issues after rebuilt. I've been busy working on my other project until now i decide to wrap this issue to have it done asap. Here is my update:

1. After i came back work on my engine, i took off the engine to analyze the grinding noise down. From what i have found is the clicking noise comes out from the torque converter (tc). I'm guessing it's one of the clutch inside the tc is broken but not quite sure. I can hear it from shaking the tc around. Can someone please tell me if that is possible happen? Before i start my rebuild, it was running fine. I didn't do anything to the tc other than empty out the fluids.
Should i fill up the tc before i install it back? I didn't do that at my first attemp.
Should i go ahead and order a new tc? If so, what is the part# for the tc?
I'm hopping someone can help me to get this done. If not, i will order a new tc. So, i can move on. Thanks in advanced everyone.

Yes, you should put some trans fluid in the torque converter before you install it. You won't be able to fill it full, as when you stand it up onto it's side to install it, you would lose a bunch of the fluid........but you should be able to get it at least half full and then slip it into the trans.

If the TC was making noise, then I would replace it. Might want to look for a used TC or even a used trans, and swap in it's TC.......that would be way cheaper than buying a new TC if you have to get one from Mazda!

My first attemp to install the engine, i didn't fill any fluids to the tc. Do you think it damaged the tc?
I was let the engine running for about 2 hrs.
Now, when i pulled off the tc. I found fluids inside the tc half way.
My concern if the tc is damaged because i didn't fill in fluids before installation? That was the only mistake i have made.
I will fill in fluids and install it again to see if it works. I guess my first installation was awkward from what i have read some threads. I bolt the tc to the fly wheel then attached to the trans and bolt them up instead. I will slide in the tc to the trans then bolt to the fly wheel, then bolt them up this time.
Do you think the tc wasn't reach all the way in with my first method of installation?

By the way, do you know where to source a trans for good price?
Thanks earl!
