hey guys, i have a buyer for my truck in canada, i have to take the truck to him, so my question is what is the best way to get the truck across the border? i will trailer it up there b/c its going to be like a 13 hr drive there, so how is the best way to get it across and what do i have to do to get it across?

dude tell them you are taking it up to get painted or if you want evrything on the up and up he has to get it arranged before you come up as he is the buyer abd has to get it already not you.

do i have to do anything special with the title?

you shouldn't have to do anything with the title. the buyer takes care of all the transfer fees. it shouldn't be to difficult to get it there. there are always covoys of cars pulling cars to mexico over here.

i'd tell the border officials you are taking it to get some work done and then leave it there.

then the buyer has to get the basic title transfer papers. that should be all you have to do is fill out the paper.

he will then have to go to canada customs and pay tax on whatever the agreed writen price on the transfer papers is.

then he will have to get it inspected and if it passes he can insure.

this is what we did when we brought a truck over from japan.

your side of the transaction is pretty basic, you just have to fill out some simple things on a transfer form.
