I was just wondering if anybody had tried paeco products before I order from them .

guess i gotta try it out ?!

I'm not sure how good they are. I'd hope they work miracles with the prices they have listed for some of their machine work. What kind of performance parts are you trying to get?

I know what you mean about the prices. I want to get a cam from them couse they have Big regrinds . I was also thinking about trying out their kevlar clutch .

You want a good clutch for the b, look into a second gen, non turbo rx7 clutch. I'm sure there are other places that you could find a mild cam for your truck without completely paying thru the nose for parts...

I own a cam in my from them. I have a b2600i 1989. The only thing that you must know is that I ran into a issue with my stock rocker arms. I need to get roller rockers. Because of the grind that I had them do my "paws" or "feet" of my rocker arms are dragging on the way up and down, causing the valves to open too soon and close too late. I have since pulled the cam from the truck, but only because I haven't ordered rollers yet. They took about 6 weeks to complete my regrind. Here is a pic of it when it was new.

The other thing I ran into was because they remove material to make the new grind and my truck has hydraulic lifters I had to order valve lash caps from Manley Performance. The hydraulic lifters don't give enough "height adjustment". If the truck would have come with manual adjuster screws this problem would not exist. Although I think the dragging issue would still exist, thus still requiring roller rockers anyways. The reason the rollers will work is the radius of the roller is much smaller that the radius or curve of the standard rocker arms. Hope this helps. You got it easy..... I told you what you need....I found out the hard and frustrating way..... Although I need roller rockers it is not Paeco's fault. Just the nature of high lift cams.

Oh. One more thing. Although this is a 4 cyl. it did lope pretty good at idle. I don't know why but I have always loved a loping (I don't know if that is a word?) engine at idle. At least if it is loping from a cam that is.....

You can also see in this pic the head that I moded out.

I had Manley Performance make me a set of custom over-sized intake valves

. Paeco told me in order to reach the 7800 RPM limit I would have to install double valve springs as well. So I did the springs and installed aluminum spring retainers. The valve guide towers also had to be removed so the inner spring would fit. Now there is just the valve guide sticking out of the head. This should be fine since the guide gets most of its support from the lower part of the head anyways. Sorry I'm not trying to jack your thread but just trying to make it easier for you. The other thing I did to the engine is I am not turning the balance shafts. That right there has to add 10 h.p. Any time you can reduce rotating mass it helps alot. As of right now, even without the cam it is quite a bit stronger of a engine than before. I think the larger valves helped alot. I will also be making a header this winter for it. Oh, I also ported the head a little. I did a flow bench test and it was about 20% better. These heads are pretty choked up. I matched the ports for the intake and exhaust manifolds......I could not believe how far off they were...some of the ports were off by 1/8". Imagine how well air flows thru a port that is not centered.

Here is a pic of the valve lash caps I was talking about.

Thanks for all the help ! Really appreciate it . I have a 91 b2200 with a b2000 head and rocker arms . Luckily, my rocker arms are adjustable and because of this i dont need the lash caps right ? but do i still need the roller rockers ? Also , when you bored your head , did you bore your valve seats as well?
