Why is it that people just simply swap motors out? are these 2.2's just unbuildale or to expensive? or just a lack of aftermarket internals? i'm new to the mazda scene an well i have plans on further lowering my ride, lower pro tires and flipping the ball joints, also may see if a spring has been removed from the rear leaf set idk i bought the truck lowered as is. been too busy wth engine issues and brakes to worry about how it was dropped but i know it is on blocks atleast 3'

again kinda all around as to why i posted in off topic, sorry if it is the wrong thread to post in. i'll post pics tomorrow of my rear springs to see if anyone can tell me how many or how the springs where lowered on my truck, all the helpfull advice and hints i've gotten on here have turned my 800$ wtf clunker into a truck to be proud of, engine is running stronger than ever ( still need remove my egr valve lol then i can clean my engine bay )

I do know it has had a head replaced recently, and not sure if they did a 2.0 swap or not, i seen a thread i need to find again that showed the difference between the heads pretty clearly.

but i'd really like to build the motor currently in the truck nothing ridiculous but if possible i'd like to get atleast 200 hp or more if possible idk that's really my main question tell i can get pics tomorrow of the rear drop.

These engines are easy to rebuild and not expensive to do so.

Most do a swap to get more power without a big cost etc...

I've heard the block can take the power you want but you'd need a new head and more. I'm pretty sure you need to go all out or not, "just doing a little" mod won't get you much.

Good luck, it would be a massive waste of money to try to get that much power out of the stock engine.

Thanks for the input guys, and well i'm not looking for some kind of monster pavement ripping truck lol,i understand every motor has its limits etc, but can these motors be turboed? or even supercharged? i know some of the other mazda vehicles had a 2.2 with a turbo option, idk if this would be a possibility on these trucks?
