Upgraded house electrical panel, installed 220 line to Jacuzzi heater. Upgraded the garage to it's own new electrical panel, added 220 line for and rewired air compressor to run on 220, and upgraded the garage electrical outlets and lights.

This upgrade effectively cuts my consumption is half - for example the air compressor draw drops from 15.8 to 7.5 amps. AND I will no longer have issues with breakers popping when the women use a hair dryer when I have the compressor running AND I can now start looking for a welder(MIG or TIG).

Organized the Mazda parts warehouse in the basement.

Now I will get my dinner together and watch the OSU buckeyes dismantle another opponent.

I know you usually document your actions on your Mazda really well, any chance you documented adding 220, a new panel and upgrading your garage electrical? This is something I'll need to do eventually in my garage but it's a bit out of my experience level.

Well, until you mentioned it I hadn't thought about it. And now that I think about it there isn't much to show but I can tell you some things.

Firstly and most importantly, even though I "know" what to do I still enlisted the help of an electrician buddy of mine. I did that to ensure what was done is safe and to code for my city. If you "don't know" what you are doing hire help or at least get a professional friend to help.

That being said, I had to run a 8AWG wire 60+ feet from my panel in the basement on one side of my house up to the second floor over the bathroom and down through my bedroom wall into the garage on the other side of my house - this is THE most expensive part of the project next to labor if you have to hire someone.

Here you can see the new breaker a the bottom right with the new 8AWG wire installed.

Thanks a lot Dan. I do plan on educating myself thoroughly before attempting to do this, but paying someone is out of the question. The good news I;ll have plenty of time to educate myself and hopefully find a competent electrical friend. I've wired electrical motors, switched motors from 220 to 110 and vice versa, changed plugs out from foreign units to work with domestic plugs etc but never run wire, boxes, etc in a house. I used to wire PTA welders and diagnose and repair units that were not ours, so basic wiring knowledge is covered.

Drove 90 mins. to pic up a Fabtech tire carrier for the Toyota. Then drove 90 mins. back. Bought it for $48 when they sale new for over $200. Looked brand new.

Then fired up the ole Mazda and now it won't start yay get to figure out whats wrong with it again. Just put a mechanical distributor in it 2 months ago.
