definitely when you check it out more, like everyone was saying to check for rust. when the seals get old on these dattos they tend to leak on the top corners of the front windshield that causes the floor to rust right under that. also be sure and check the back bottom outside corners of the cab too. do you know what year it is too? the early 70s 521s came with the L16 motor which is a really great reliable powerplant with parts readily available for it. the late 60s 521s with the J15 motors werent so much.

i am going to talk to the guy today or tomorrow. i won't be buying it, i am trying to get david to buy it. he was on here as projekt94 then as projekt89, just so you guys know who he is. he just sold his 89 and is now looking for a new toy. i told him to go with something that is still a virgin instead of something that someone else has already hacked up.

I say no more than $200 or $300. But I am a prick like that. Half the time these people just have these old beaters (regardless of the shape) laying around because they are lazy and don't feel like fixing. Odds are it is not running (time for a nissan Z motor swap) and being in Texas may not have a whole lot of rust. I say it will not hurt if you or David offer the guy a few hundred bucks. The worst he would say is NO. Or counter maybe with $400. Then you are still getting a pretty good deal.
Good luck and tell your boy to keep us posted if he buys it.

well as long as someone buys it and saves it.

I'd be all over that if I had the chance.

well the guy doesn't want to sell. i asked him if he would at all be interested in selling it and he didn't even hesitate in sayin NO! haha. i guess it will just sit there and rot as usual! the weeds are up to the roof now. and the wheels are sinking into the ground. really sucks! it is in awesome shape and the guy doesn't want to get rid of it. it must have some sort of sentimental value but even still, that sucks!

I know how that is man. There's someone down the road from me that has a 66 Impala 2 dr hardtop just sitting there rusting under a tree. They won't come off it, They have a 66 chevy pickup sitting next to it doing the same.
