im kind of torn between a fe3 turbo build or doing a v-8 swap in the truck. i wanna hear from all the guys on here thats done the v8 swaps. chevy or ford it doesnt matter to me. let me see some pics of what you have and what all has to be done in order to put these engines in here. thanks alot

I will post some pictures when I get a chance of my Blue Mazda with 350 (355CI NOW) has been under a tarp for awile now while working on my other mazda .

I would say mine is a more extensive swap I did all braided lines with AN fittings . Instead of Chevy Power Steering pump or Mazda Pump . I added a Billet Racing Pump re-geared to match Chevy engine with Billet Reservoir and Hoses . Blue Anodized fittings added to Stock Mazda Power Steering pump to complete swap . Cost was alot , but steers amazing with easy . Really the swap is quite easy if you go the carb route .

Pictures are rough , since it was right after stripping for Paint Touchup

The tranny mount mounts in exsisting holes already in the crossmember and are treaded just place and bolt in.

okay lance was just wonderin about the engine mounts. looks like it has holes in it like you bought a kit. the kits still around? how much? where can i get a kit? i was looking at the crossmemeber and seems like you built another one or sectioned the old one. whats the details on that? and did you have to do anything to the firewall to allow for the distributor to fit and turn without problems? did you have to do anything so the tranny would clear?

oh yeh lance what all exactly did that engine come in and what years? i know it came in some of the camaros but im not sure on the year range or if it came in anything else. thats the engine i was lookin at wanting to get in there.,

The Tuned port has a smaller distributor then other SBC distributors did , but depended on if you got the early Tuned Port or Later . That engine came in Camaros,Corvettes in a 305 CI version(camaros) and a 350 CI version from the Corvettes

The Trans.Am came with them aswell with the Iroc-z package .

They are quite cheap at wrecking yards , but I would suggest going with an aftermarket Harness and computer basically a stand alone .

well i definetely would want the 350 seing as i have had no luck with the stroked down 305. i was mainly banking for the factory harness and computer mainly becuse i hate wiring and with a stock setup is pretty much already there and figured out for you. just re route it and splice a few here and there. any links to such harness and standalone? and prices and such?
