Well after needing to replace my stock e-brake unit that was wore out, I just about started putting my replacement that came with the truck when it hit me. Why not try and replace the lame dash mont one with a hand brake style one. This Idea actually hit me while I was at the j-yard getn some ranger headlight plugs for the headlight swap when I passed an 03 protege. The e-brake caught my eye and I knew I had to take it home haha.

Got the hand brake bolted in. It fit really good and I had a good space for it in the tranny tunnel above the driveshaft. I am going to mate the Truck cable with the protege cable tomorrow and try it out. Then maybe this week I'll get working on the new console, since i have plans for getn some mdf for some audio for both my Ranger and the B.

$10 from the u-pull

Wow something TOTALLY new. I like it. If you could get just that section of the console and mate it to the one you are building it could be a bitching little mod.

thanks, yeah i'll try and figure out a nice way to do the console, and liek you said maybe mold in part of the stock console.

Here is a pic of the hardware I'm using to mate the cables together. I have to work on the driverside more to make the cables pull straighter. I will have to come right off the section on the leaf pack. The pass side I had to do the same thing, I had to remove the bracket that is right by the gas tank so I could get the cable to aim straight at the other cable instead of making such a sharp bend. It didnt want to pull very good.
