Bought this truck for $360 last February. It had 146K miles and it ran and drove, but it had a cracked frame. Intentions were to use it as a parts truck for my gf's 88' B2200 that is bagged. We were going to swap the fenders, bed, and bucket seats, but since her truck is regular cab, and this is ext. cab, we decided against swapping sheetmetal.
I ended up having a friend patch the frame for me, and decided to keep the truck as work truck and use it for the winter because my Scion tC sucks in the snow, and my bagged S10 is a show truck. Well enough rambling... on with the pics...
When we first got it:
Swapped the bucket seats for a bench seat from my gf's 88 reg. cab
Covered the yellow foam with some stretchy material stapled to the back of the seat, lol
Wanted to do a little body work to prevent it from rusting any more. This was the cheap and dirty way of doing it... but remember, this is a $360 beater. I grinded down the rust at the bottom of the doors, covered it with some body filler, sanded, primed.
Taped off, sanded with 220 grit, scuffed with red scotch pad
Newspapered, wax n' grease remover
Sprayed with U-Pol Raptor spray on bed liner - still wet here so it looks uneven
Dried and tape removed
I'm planning on painting the wheels black and getting some 31's for it before the winter. Maybe eventually tint the back windows.
