money is not the issue......its skill. you cant call suicidedoors.com and order a box of "skill". you have to know what you are doing or hire somebody that does. you are gonna be working on customers cars and their lives depend on your skill. so far i havent seen any of yours.

again, there is no work being done right now and i will be hiring someone who knows what they are doing.

at the moment i am ordering on a as needed basis but im working to make some money to put into the company and slowly getting stuff needed. untill everything is set up there will be no work involved it will be strictly retail

In order to successfully run a buisness you need to have the cash to get the product fast,Most companys won't even give you good deals unless you buy in or buy a certain amount of product. You should have atleast 3 months worth of cash in the bank to run the company. Do yourself a favor stay in school save some money and when your done school then consider it. The auto customizing market here in Ontario is small Theres alot of competition, and you don't have the know of or funds to compete.

Hey man i wish you nothin but luck. Don't let all these haters get you down. You can do anything you put your mind to. though i did see some good advice in between all the bashing.

It always helps to have a good business plan in case u want/need to borrow some bucks to keep u afloat.1.What is ur product/service?2.What is ur market?Area served,demographics,etc.3.who are ur competitors? What doe they do better/worse than U?4.WHAT R UR projected expenses for the first 3 years?Revenue for the first 3 years?etc, etc. Most businesses fail because they are undercapitalized so dont forget ur financing. Also I belong to SCORE,the Service Corps of Retired Executives-volunteers who have run businesses and can help people get started.Check for something similar in ur area.BJ

Just remember this down time season and with how things are going you will soon see that this business is going to feel the crunch as well. Just be ready and don't stock to much product and sellling product only you will find people are not as eager to buy unless you can back up your product with first hand knowledge of it. But all the power to you.

well thanks for all the feed back, i know alot of people dont see it happening and other people believe i can do it. im going to have a business plan done soon enough and apply for a grant which will help quite a bit. im also working with my buddy who does installs so, technically we can do the work, just not first hand its just an option. i do have the cash to cover a good amount of money for orders, and as for buying into companys im working on that 1 at a time unless i can get a grant or loan in which case i will cover it completely. thanks hocbj23 especially i will look into that and dropitforme. i appriciate it guys, i may not know much and im not through highschool but im working on it. i have been able to help a couple customers out so far.

you are all right there is a 50/50 chance of the business falling through or being successful but i think i can do it so thats a chance im willing to take.

Anyway thanks again for the feedback everyone i appreciate it,

-Dj

I will tell you what man,

All of these guys are def not trying to bash on you, its just their way of helping. And 99% of them know what they are talking about. I can tell you first hand that you need everything listed above before you even think about taking orders or sporting the business name.

I wanted to start The Bag Shack sooo long ago, but I knew that I had to do it the right way. Research everything, and have a pocket full of cash to get going. I had a pocket full of cash, and it was gone really fast.

I guess the point of all of this is that you NEED TO GET YOUR DUCKS IN A ROW...

Just my two coppers!

Good luck on your journey....
