if I did it, I would source all my parts from a B5 Passat VR6 AWD, turbo the VR6 and run MS, which should be able to push 350-400+ HP. The engine would sit sideways in the bay rather then longitudaly, and a body drop would be a little easier due to not having the tranny under the cab, just have to have a tunnel for the driveshaft to the rear. it would also have the IRS from the passat. I've been thinking about this for awhile. Going with a VR6 would make it easy on me, cuase I'm use to working on VW's and they can make good amounts of power and they already come in awd options.
the other cool thing, is that VR6 passats are 5 lug, and most are rear disc, they arent that wide, so it should fit under the truck, and I could run some really nice VW/Audi rims.
