This is my second Mazda. I'm building a mazda b2200 single cab in my spare time. And I drive a lovely korean car to work everyday. I hate it. So i saw a B2200 extra cab on ebay. I bought it for a smooth $1300, average market price for a run down B2200. So that way I would get a little more respect at the traffic lights. I bought this truck uninspected and untested. Ballzy move i know. But for 1300 it was worth the risk.

So i got the truck delivered to my house this morning. It was on the tow truck and i see the first problem. The wheels and tires are over hanging the guard about an inch (25mm). I don't know what is causing this problem. The tires and wheels on the otherside are only over hanging about 10mm. I think it might be the wrong rims for the truck. If you know what is causing this problem let me know?

Next problem, I knew about this one at time of sale. The description said no radiator and hoses. No problem i thought. I have a look in the engine and spot a few more missing things straight away. No battery, no airbox, no timing belt, and a missing engine fan.

Is this a waterpump? Or what use to be.

I keep looking and notice that the front of the car, what the front clip and grill bolt to, is bent. And not only bent, but welded to the chassis. I keep looking and notice the right engine mount is twisted, suspicious i thought. And the waterpump has been sheered off. I then noticed some big dents in the top of the firewall near the rocker cover. Then it clicked. This car was in a front end collision. Pushing the front clip and radiator into the fan, busting all hoses that are under heated pressure and snapping off the waterpump.

Little bit of work and it'll be on the road, should make a good daily.

And sorry about the photos. Either photobucket resized them wrong, or the IMG code in the forum did.

"Is this a waterpump? Or what use to be."

No thats the water neck for the lower rad hose, looks like half of it is missing.

I tink dat u need to run that dude down to ur local frame shop and be sure the frame is straight before u sink any more money in it.If it was hit hard enough to get 1/2 of the water jacket fitting,it was hit pretty damn hard.bj

Yeah thats what I was thinkin. I was looking at the frame tonight with my dad. We think it is crooked. It would explain the wheels and alot of other things. Is it fixable to push out a 'out of square' frame? I'm fairly sure it is. They have a big machine that pulls it back square.

Yeah, they can true it up if it isnt too badly warped.Good and the bad-Maz's have pretty "soft" frames which means u can get them back in shape.Bad news is they are subject to cracks and rusting out.Be sure the frame guys check it good and inspect for cracks as well.also check for rusting in the process.bj

I'm gonna see my mate at the frame shop today.
I also worked out the wheel problem. The dude stuck the wrong size rims on it. He put wide rims on it, but the offset of the rims are the same as stocko rims.

i was gonna say maybe he put the 2 rear rims on the one side of the truck and the front rims on the otherside, which might be why the offset is different.
