found an rx7 . now anybody know of a site with info on the swap (RX7/B2ooo ? or someone thats done it ? just looking for info on it before I go thru with it. "I've done searches at all the sites and read thru a bunch of post but still have just come up with - people talking about it - not doing it "
is it not a good swap for a daily driver ?

its a good swap, but keep in mind no matter how cool it may be to have a rotary, those old Wankels still have the seal problem, and they will go out if not rebuilt and will begin to leak and burn oil overtime. Also keep in mind the RX7 has high gears to compensate for the low torque of the motor. Since you are adding about 1000lbs on load by installing it in a truck, it'd struggle some with stock Mazda rear ends, but it'll get by. What i'd do is also swap in RX7 IRS. since you've worked on muscles and hotrods, you'd prolly know how to do that. that is pretty general.

i'd do it, there aren't many that actually go through with the swap. find one that is boosted and it wont struggle

well ....... it just sounds neat ...... but I don't see an advantige ?
except "cool" factor ....
And I'm thinking in our local circle , a 350 would be cooler.
"and be a lot easier 4/me "

the rx7 I picked up doesn't have turbo anyway And I'm tired of looking , ready to get my hands dirty . so I guess chalk me up as another "BS'r on the rx7" + I can make it streetable & B@!!s 2 the wall < .

Now to see if I need to swap the bags I picked up 2 hold the 350?
thank you Mark for your response

i bagged a 64 impala and a 91 caprice wagon with 2500 lbs. bags on the front. takes a little more pressure, but they pick them up just fine.

i'm about to do this swap also. makes a fair bit of room in the old engine bay also. if you go ahead with it, don't forget your oil cooler.
shouldn't have too much trouble with a NA rotor, was it carby or inj??? i'll be webering mine, so will help alot

in real life gas cost to much ........ so what i'm building is not just a toy but a dayly driver so I went with the boring rebuild of the baby mazda motor that was in it ....

sorry guys but my brother is 16 has very little money sorces right now so i paid for the air/bags & ect. but he'll have to pay 4 gas so we stayed with the 4cyl. still working on the airbags hiding the lines , fixing to cut the bed to make room for the tank.

thanks for all the opinions and help

no kidding.. thats why i'm not doing my 351 swap. I'm considering either rebuilding my 2200 motor.. or trying to find a cheap rotary.. cause they do get decent gas mileage.

or you could get an LS1 and have it all.

gas mileage of an import and power of a 350 (well, 346 actually)
