Well I just found a working compressor, and my truck already had factory A/C. Now what I need to know is if an 87 Mazda has freon or that R134a stuff for coolant?

there bouth freon one is called r12 the other R134a most likly your truck is R12 unless someone has changed it over. if thay have not then i would most the time you have to replace the older compressers when you change over or thay tend to burnup you would need a new dyer as well and new orings

So basically its R12 but it needs to be changed to R134a... Well crap, guess my fat ass will have to sacrifice A/C this summer. Good thing Im only gonna have it running for a lil while before starting the bodydrop.

it dossent have to be changed but i would R12 cost alot and it has to be done by a pro were as 134 is cheap and you can do it your self plus if the system is charged now you need to take it to a shop to have it uncharged by them so thay can get ride of the old r12 safely
