Does anyone here have or would be willing to take, detailed close up pics of a stock 86-88 B2000 engine? I bought my truck a year ago with a blown engine.. I yanked the engine out fully intending to just drop a newer crate motor into it. Well long story short.. due to cash constraints.. I just recently got done with the new engine and I have put it back into the truck.. but.. since its been so dang long since I have worked on it.. I dont remember where everything goes!! LOL I have a complete vacuum diagram of the engine.. so I am not worried about the vacuum hoses.. what I would like to see if possible is how all of the various brackets bolt up to the engine.. like the alternator, PS Pump, Smog Pump, and the fan pully mount. Underside pics of the brackets on both sides of the engine where the bell housing meets up with the back of the engine block would also be great. Thanks in advance

The tranny to motor should be very easy, as there are only two types of bolts.. and neither will fit in the other types hole. Sorry i can't help you much more.. but i would recomend putting it up on an engine stand and trying brackets to block.. see what lines up perfectly and go from there.. make sure to bust out a sharpie and draw some arrows and make your own directions. I would also try a haynes manual.. altho the pics are black and white and don't help too much.

Thanks man.. I am actually about 80% done.. the engine is in.. bolted & torqued to the trans.. PS Pump is mounted.. Alternator is mounted, Fan is mounted.. Exaust manifold is bolted on as well as that funky air pump hose thing (damndest thing I have ever seen). Starter is installed and wired. Valve cover is installed & sealed. Fuel pump is installed. Got that heater core pipe that runs under the exaust manifold and around the backside of the engine installed and hooked up. Intake & carb is next.. But even though I have a vacuum hose diagram.. it does a pretty piss poor job of showing what the components look like. Sure I know there is supposed to be a vacuum line there.. but what nipples do they go on? LOL Also.. my alternator apparently got stolen at some point while the truck sat. I have a spare so thats no big deal.. but they cut the wires when they took my original.. so pics of the alternator wiring harness would be awesome, as well as pics of the vacuum lines. Any pics are better than no pics Thanks again! Oh.. and if I ever meet the person that engineered that power steering pump bracket.. I will b*tch slap them into the next century Cheers

I would just upgrade to a chevy one wire alternator while you have the chance.. quite easy.. and simplifies the wiring problem.. also.. for the vacume hoses.. i remember colored dots and lines on the hoses as well as on the nipples that all matched up.. so it was like yellow to yellow, and blue to blue..

I'll check for that on the vacuum hoses.. would definately make life easier. Thanks for the tip
