rpms

i was thinking of getting this mazda, but it will not go past 2500rpm, whats wrong with it, any help will be apprecited

mine wont go past that if i hold it to the floor but if a let off it to half way and gently push it to the floor it works great not sure why dont really care motors coming out soon but you might wont to try that

check for binding on the throttle cable.. also carb or fi?

first of, i'd check compression...it might just be dying, piston rings may be shot

if its still good, start with fuel : filter, pump, kinked lines, etc.

then ignition: plugs, plug wires, distributor, distributor cap and rotor, ignition coil, etc.
