Ok so i'm the new guy from Canada... yay... Anyways here's the story, my dad bought a B2200 2.2L FI ext. cab back in '92. We've had it ever since... now it's mine. Only thing wrong is the rad has a dead spot in it (getting fixed asap), other then that no smoke or clicking.
First thing I noticed was that it was just plain gutless, so the first chance I got, I popped the hood to see what could be done. Noticed the factory airbox was way too complicated for my liking so I went out and bought a cheapo ractive cone air filter, ripped the box off and threw it on right after the sensor. HUGE DIFFERENCE. Now it's actually fun to drive... I can finally maintain a decent highway speed and pass people. Also top speed went from 130km/h to 150km/h (both down the same hill haha). I also took a piece of the old airbox and fabricated a type of "ram air" system through the grill to the new intake... Not really sure it made a preformance difference... Just sounds cool now.
Anyways, I've been reading on a few boards the past few hours that the probe/626 turbos will work with the b2200 block. I get the basic idea but I still dont have a complete parts list to make that project work, can anyone list em out for me?
Also, I need A/C.... That truck gets so hot inside the cab during the summer that water is required. I usually keep a camel bak in there. Is it possible for this truck?
Last but not least, Calgary is prime for 4x4ing and off road driving since we've got the mountains about 30 minutes away and most of my friends are into that scene, I felt like being different by not buying a Jeep. I've seen some pretty sweet B series trucks all lifted (I don't want to do anything extreme). I kinda want to take the same direction but still have a street worthy truck. Plus gas prices keep going up and I like my current gas mileage (around 580km to the tank) Problem is, my truck is 2wd. Anyone done a 2wd to 4wd conversion? I assume I basically need the whole front end and tranny/transfer case and possibly the wiring from the 4wd? Also considering on leafing the front end to make it easier to lift and it'll probably make the 4x4 conversion much easier that way.
Any help is great, thanks guys.
