this is my first post so bear with me....

i have just started to notice a rubbing sound coming from my rear end. it only occurs when the truck is moving, it is much more obvious when decelerating, only happens when driving straight (not around turns), and has gotten progressively worse in the last 48 hrs. my parking brake doesn't work very well (haven't ever really worried about it or decided to fix it), so i dont know if this a factor at all. any information or suggestions would be appreciated. the truck is a 1994 B4000 4.0L V6. thanks.

First off welcome.. i would defenatly check the parking break.. has the rear end been modified (shortened) or have you welded anything to it? You could potentially be rubbing one of your axel shafts or the gears could be going bad. It could also be your carrier bearing on the drive shaft.
