hey guys, just wondering... I want to put a 5L in my truck at some point as i stated before and I've heard with Shorty headers, a Shorty water pump, and an electric fan, that you can close the factory hood on an unlowered maz...

is this true? if it is true, PLEASE tell me it's true for the NON-HO Fuel Injected 5.0L that i have...

Also my truck was body dropped 3 1/4" so the mounts would need to be shortened
will the oil pan hit?
am i going to kill my engine? will it fit? (i love this engine, please tell me it'll fit and not explode! )

Doesn't anyone know anything about my 5.0L?

it doesnt matter it its lowered or not but since you bd'ed it there is almost no way your gonna get it under the hood. i would just take out the crossmemeber insted of modifiying it, and make super small motor mounts. i got my 5L under the hood before the body drop but i had a carb intake, carb and low profile air cleaner.

Thanks guys... I wasn't sure if the motor i had was any different from an HO.
People kept telling me they were the same size oil pan etc but i wasn't too sure. It's out of an 86 F-150 and it still runs like a charm.

if i take out the crossmember completely won't that affect the stability of the frame? Should i add a new crossmember or box it all or something?
