Does anyone know what size the rear end is in the 4X4 e.g. dana 44 or what? Looks like there might be a company that has a rear wheel disc conversion. Bearing size would be helpful to know too.
Thanks!

SORRY BOUT POSTIN ON AN OLD THREAD,

I HAVE BEEN DOIN SOME LOOKING INTO THE REAR END OPTIONS TO SEE WHAT I COULD USE TO KEEP THE 6 LUG 5.5" PATTERN WITH A LOCKER OR LIMITED SLIP, AND A DISC BRAKE SETUP, WITH A MID 3.??:1 SOMETHING GEAR RATIO.

THE STOCK MAZDA B2000-B2200 4X2 HAD 3.727:1 OR 3.909:1 REAR END RATIOS, THE B2600S IN THE 4X2 WERE THE SAME AS THE B2000-B2200, AND THE 4X4'S HAD EITHER 4.30:1 OR 4.44:1 REAR ENDS.

I AM PRETTY SURE MINE HAS THE 3.727:1 (3.73) GEARS WHICH RUNNIN 225/50-16 TIRES WOULD HAVE THE MOTOR TURNING @2900-3000 RPM @ 70 MPH, AND NOT NEAR AS GOOD GAS MILEAGE.

AS FAR AS SOMETHING TO GET TO SWAP AND GET ALL I WANT, THE CLOSEST I CAN COME IS A REAR AXLE OUT OF A 4WD TOYOTA, ONE OF THE REARS THEY MADE HAS A 3.56:1 REAR RATIO, BUT HAD DRUM BRAKES, THEN I WOULD HAVE TO MAKE OR FIND A KIT TO SWAP TO REAR DISCS.

THIS SETUP WOULD ALLOW TO KEEP THE LUG PATTERN, HAVE BOTH WHEELS PULLIN, AND A GEAR RATIO THAT WOULD ALLOW YOU TO RUN LIKE 70-80 MPH, AND NOT BE TURNING BUT @ 2500 RPM MAX ON THE MOTOR, WHICH WOULD MEAN BETTER GAS MILEAGE ON THE HIGHWAY, AND YOU COULD WIND FIFTH GEAR TO LIKE 125 MPH AND STILL NOT BE TURNING 5000 RPM! = LESS STRESS ON THE MOTOR!!

When I was looking for a yota 4x4 rear end the wreckers were telling me that they only came in 4.11 and 4.56.

2x4 yotas aren't 6 lug though they are 5 on 4 1/2". but i'm sure you know that

MY DAILY IS A 2003 4X4 TACOMA EXT. CAB SR-5 V6. IT IS A 6 LUG (6X5.5)
SAME AS THE MAZDA'S, THE CENTER BORE MIGHT BE DIFFERENT THO.

THIS MAZ HAS SOME WHEELS OFF OF A 4-RUNNER THEY ARE 6 LUG

IT WAS IN THE GEN DISCUSSION FORUM UNDER HEADING ANOTHER E-BAY FIND.

tskb2200,

SORRY BOUT THAT, I MISSED WHAT YOU SAID BOUT TEH 4X2 BEING A DIF PATERN, YOUR RIGHT, I WANT BOTH WHEELS PULLIN, AND THE 6 LUG, BUT I WOULD HAVE TO CHANGE OUT THE GEARING IN THE REAR TO GET THE RATIO I WANT, MID 3 NOT IN THE 4 , THE MID 3 WILL KEEP FROM HAVEING SUCH HIGH RPMS AT HIGHWAY SPEED. SEVERAL DIFF PLACES SELL GEARING FOR THE YOTA 4X4'S EITHER IN LIMITED SLIP OR LOCKER. THEN I WOULD HAVE TO MAKE/FIND A DISC SETUP FOR IT.
