I have a 91 B2200 that is stock carbed right now. I really would rather get rid of the carb and go to FI rather then buying a weber. what all do i need for my truck to swap over to FI? I am going to swap over to complete FI first and run that for a month at least so i can get the bugs worked out before i try to switch to a mx-6 turbo setup. What parts do you need from the turbo mx-6 to be able to turbocharge our B2200? I can get most of the parts for the turbo stuff from the junkyards around here, but i cant get any of the FI stuff for the B2200 motor.

YOU'LL NEED TO GET THE INTAKE & EXHAUST MANAFOLDS , TURBO & ECU OFF OF THE 626 TO MAKE IT WORK. OR JUST GET THE INTAKE , AND A STAND ALONE ECU, AND HAVE THE EXHAUST MADE FOR WHAT EVER TURBO SIZE YOU WANT, AS A BUNCH OF THE PIPING WILL HAVE TO BE FABRICATED ANYHOW. YOU WILL HAVE TO CHANGE OUT THE MECH FUEL PUMP TO AN ELECTRIC ALSO AT THE MECH ONE WON'T HAVE ENOUGHT PSI ON YOUR FUEL RAILS. NOT AN EASY SWAP, BUT DEF. COOL WHEN COMPLETE AND WORKING CORRECTLY!!

I would just go get the entire FI setup off a older mx6 or a 626 (16v). Make it a turbo one then you would be set. The turbo suppsoedly won't quite fit needs a little tweeeking.

from research i did on the turbo install from a probe/mx-6/626....

the turbo will work if u take the compressor and turbine houseing apart and grind a pin down do it can be turned 180*....

the intake manifold also has to be cut off and flipped 180* so that it points towards the front of the truck instead of the firewall.

I also found an 1987 n/a fuel injected 626 in a junkyard with a blown motor.
They will sell the intake and ecu for $100. Is this a good deal? Do I need the wiring harness too? Better than getting a Weber carb, I think.
I'd like to convert my 89B carb to FI.
slammedmini, what do you mean by intake manifold need to be cut and turned 180? Where do you cut? horizontal? I will take a look at the intake and find out what you are talking about.

Are the injectors fired sequentially or batch fired? How does it time the fuel injection? Is timing off the ignition coil firing? I need to get a book and look at the diagrams. But if you have first hand info and had done it, I will appreciate any info.

I got all the parts I need for the carb to FI conversion from a turbo donor.

I already started dry-fitting the intake manifold with injectors.
I did not have to rotate the intake because the throttle body is in the middle of the manifold.
I am making the wiring harness right now and hopefully work on the fuel pump later.
I will use a 1987 2.3L Ranger externally mounted fuel pump rated up to 70 psi.
Mazda 626 only needs max of 41 psi, so the Rangers fuel pump should be more than enough.
The fuel rail has a built in vacuum operated pressure regulator so the 70 psi is not an issue and should be dropped to 41 psi and excess goes back to gas tank..

Oops, looks like the pic did not upload.

Let's try it again.

looks like u got one of the first year setups, the newer ones have the intake pointed at the firewall........

Yeah, probably so. I was a bit lucky with this set up. No cutting involved at all,

37 wires from the ECU plus some wires for the coil tach output, TPS, idle up solenoids, air flow meter, temp sensor, fuel pressure regulator vacuum relay, atmospheric sensor, temp switch, vacuum switch, main relays and cut-out relay.

It's gonna be fun. I hope the ECU is good.
If it is bad, fall back is the megasquirtII diy kit from DIGI-KEY @$80..
Has anybody tried megasquirt yet for 4-cyl Mazda B trucks?

i believe russ D did it when he put cbr 600 f4i throttle bodys on his truck. he was on here but don't think he posts much but he is on ssm and he is a pretty smart guy when it comes to mazdas and there wiring...

one thing you don't want to over look is pistons need to get some pistons from the turbo cars also if you wanna run anykind of boost.
