First off, I'm sorry if this is the wrong place to post or if a similar problem has already been answered. (My excitement of finding a site devoted to the B-series pickup truck has made me more anxious to get an answer then anything)

Second off the problems:
-My truck burns oil(blueish tinted smoke will leave my exhaust upon startup for a few minutes - terrible stench.)

-Everyday I drive it(my dad drove it everyday before me and put on 227k+ miles) and when I shut it off after driving it a mere 15 minutes when I come to a stop smoke(or steam maybe?) leaves my engine bay. It's almost as if something is on fire...

-After repeated startups in a day(usually 6-7) the engine will idle lower, shake terribly, and when I put it in gear it will NOT rev higher than 3k RPM. The only way to get it to 3k RPM is to ease into the accelerator, when it is floored the RPM's will actually go DOWN and there will be some minor popping noises from what sounds like the exhaust pipe. (Goes away after about 10 minutes with a max speed of 40MPH in 3rd.)

-Now, the biggest problem is this weird acceleration problem. When accelerating it's as if I'm repeatedly pushing in and then letting off of the accelerator despite the fact it is floored or any other position.

Does anyone have any ideas on what could be wrong/how much it would cost to get repaired?

the smoking bluish is oil blow by, you will either be needing valve seals, guides or new piston rings, it could be one of the three, or a combo of them causing the smoking. with the highmileage i would look into the guides and seals first, and that should help, if that doesn't fix it, then you will need the new piston rings, and check the cylinder walls for scoring, and if they are too bad, i would get some new pistons, and at least have the cylinders honed if they aren't scored too badly, if they are bad, then you will need them bored out. as far as the fuel problem, since yours is f.i. i would get some f.i. cleaner and run through it to see if that helps, i.e. stp or something of the sort, and change the fuel filter. if that doesn't help, you may have a bad fuel pump.

hope some of this helps!

Don't forget the ever famous b2600i computer. Try the fuel filter, make sure getting spark from each cylinder etc. But it sounds a little like when my trucks computer first started to blow. You can have them fixed. It's amazing the effect it had on the truck. I'd be driven along and it would just stop running. Pull it over. Let it sit for a minute or two (sometimes 20) Then it would start and run again. I changed a number of dist caps and rotors too. Trying to figure it out.
I agree the bluish smoke is blow by. Mine burns off a good cloud in the morning too.
Make sure it has oil. I've heard stories of those engines running
without it. When was the last tune up? It probably has an oil leak somewhere and the oil is dripping onto exhaust and smoking when you stop. I smell oil burning in mine too at times. Especially going down hill. Mine leaks a little too. Mine's going for major overhaul here shortly.
There are some possibilities for you, Hope that helps.
