Can anyone tell me what this is ?? not positive myself. it is on the backside of the carb and has a wire attatched to it running to the alternator. Thanks for any help.

i believe it is an electric choek, but i have been wrong a time or two before

LOL I was thinkin the same thing BUT wasn't sure. The wire right off the alternator doesn't make sense to me. one of my trucks has it there BUT the x cab wire has been cut at the alt and re routed.

Yep, that is the electric choke. It only gets energized when the engine is running thru the power tap in the back of alternator.
