I own a 1983 mazda b2000 i just recently installed a new clutch i was putting the shifter back on and the nylon shifter ball fell right off the shifter into the tranny, can that stay in there and grind up?, i really dont want to pull the tranny again.plus know theres snow on the ground now.

Thanks alot

I would pull it out and put it back on its hard to find those things if you dont already have a spair i tried mine is messed up a little and i could not find a new one you can try taking the shifter mouting base off its 4 10 mm bolts might give you the room you need to get it (this can be done in the cab)

yeah, u need to perform cpr on the tranny and get that thing out, cause if you don't the tranny could get hung in a gear when you try to shift, that would sux..

i have tried to take it out i took off the mountaing base and i still cant see it so do u think i should just drop the tranny and try to blow it out with compressed air?

shit, the little plastic ring on my shifter broke in the tranny a long time ago from shifting to hard, but the shifter is sloppy, i just replaced the shifter and its hasent done anything

if i were you id just un bolt the tranny and turn it upside down and shake that fucker i mean it weighs less than 50 pounds and takes me 25 minutes to pull and put back in
