So I am on my third starter and all of them seem to last me the same month and a half and I was wondering why this is. my neighbor said that I had a bad ground from the battery. So I replaced that with all new stuff and this last one still only lasted a month and a half. I think that my neighbor also said that when he tapped some wires on the passengerside of the car under the hood the starter would click. What the hell is going on under their. any ideas would be awesome. thanks. oh by the way I have an 86 2.0 manual.

go through and check all your wiring for burnt wires, shorted out wires, anything that dont look good should be replaced. could also be from a weak battery

^^ correct ^^ nothing should click when you touch something unless there is a short or burned wire.

ALSO MAKE SURE THE ENGINE BLOCK IS GROUNDED TO THE FRAME, IT IS MOUNTED WITH RUBBER ENGINE MOUNTS, AND IF YOU DON'T HAVE A GOOD GROUND, JUST LIKE WITH AN AMP, YOU WILL EVENTUALLY BURN IT UP!
