hey,
k so im swapping mx-6 engine into my truck, the distributer is hitting the firewal, so to eliminate it i was told to use a crank trigger sensor instead of the stock distributer....does anybody noe is MSD or any other company builds a kit liek this...and prices maybe??? thanx guys!!

imo, now dont get me wrong here.. but.. imo if the engine works an turns over etc. would it not.. be better to build a new firewall around the engine?

I cant help you with the distributor or crank position sensor question.. but.. if you are gonna do a mazda V6 swap into your truck.. rather than using the KLDE engine from a MX-6 (or ford probe) You might consider checking into a KLZE engine. They are a JDM engine and you would have to source one from a japanese engine importer.. but they put out roughly 40 more horse power than the KLDE. Now if you are planning to go turbo in the future.. the KLDE would be the better choice.. since it has a lower compression ratio than the KLZE. I would recommend doing some reading at MX-6 or Ford Probe forums on these engines.. you might find the answer to your question there.. And you can probably find out more information about either of these engines from There are a LOT of people that stuff these engines into their MX-3's. Hope this helps.

thnx for your help, but the mx-6 engine i got is a four cylinder, and its turboed stock.... it bolt sup to the stock mazda tranny.....any help with relocatin gmy distrbuter???

you should be able to get a universal crank angle sensor from msd, or accel, or mallory. go to google and type in mr. gasket company, they own msd, and accel. i think you will have to run one of the digital ignitions systems that they offer, such as the accel +300 universal system. i got it for my b2200. and if i don't get enough fire from using the stock dizzy, i am going to get one of the c.a.s. and use it in conjunction with the +300 accel.

yeah, running one of the digital ignitions, and a c.a.s. will eliminate the
need for the stock dizzy. you will have to make a block off plate to cover the hole where the dizzy went into the head. also shop around and read what the mfg's have to say about the ignitions systems, they all have different stuff you can do with them, and different sensors you can use to control your engine, find one that is right for your application that will offer you the most flexability. i know on the 300+ you can run a c.a.s., and there is also an upgrade module the +375 that you can use to control a nos system if you wanted to spray it.

Do you have any links to the kits that would be necessary to say convert a 2.2 to a dizzy-less system? I would be very intrested to see this. Cause that would mean less crap in my engine bay.

on cardomain, theres a guy that did the swap, his name is b2200gt he did all the work and has lots of pics, i also think hes a member on here, or u can ask Russ-D on streetsouce, that guy did the same swap and also a mazda guru

I DON'T KNOW IF ACCEL HAS CRANK TRIGGER KITS, BUT I KNOW
THAT MALLORY DOES. I THINK I READ SOME WHERE THAT YOU
HAVE TO GET THE CRANK PULLY, C.A.S. AND THE C.A.S. BRACKET
FROM A PROBE W/ THE 2.2. JUST MAKE SURE THAT THE IGNITION
SYSTEM YOU GET IS COMPATABLE WITH A C.A.S. I KNOW SOME ARE
FOR JUST THE DIZZY, AND SOME ARE TRIGGERED OTHER WAYS.
