I just rebuilt my B2200 engine, put it back in and started it yesterday, i think i have a few vac line leaks, but the quesion i have is the hose/line that runs from each port on my exhaust manifold to my air cleaner, is spraying out oil?? i am not sure what could be causing this it is very very black oil to, i put new valve seals in and just took the valve cover off to make sure a valve was sticking and there wasn't if anyone knows anything let me know thanks...

here is what i found out today, it is not oil, it is water coming out of my exhaust
i started the engine today and did some looking around and water is coming out between my cyld head and exhaust manifold,
the head is like new, i am not sure what is causing this???

is the headgasket on backwards? and it could have a cracked head. But a cracked head is usually a symtom.. not always the problem. Meaning head gaskets and cracked heads can stop a truck but they are caused by other things that dont, like plugged rads or bad thermostats or coolant leaks. Rarely does a head or head gasket just "go bad".

also did you use a felpro gasket?

either what mullet said or the head could be warped.
did you have it checked while you were rebuilding the motor?
also the coolant passages inbetween the head and block
are bad about not lining up, and the head gaskets are
bad about leaking around them.

everything was put on right, i do remember what brand the gasket was, the only thing i can think of off the top of my head is that my head bolts are not tight enough maybe they are stretched, i never bought new head bolts. and i did have the head checked for cracks and i did have it shaved down to the point that i had to add a shim plate between my head and block.. but i followed the instructions and used a special spray crap to seal it to the block and placed the gasket on that then the cyld head!

i would pull at back down and use the old (the one on it now) head gasket to sell that shim plate then get a new one for the head and add a extra 3lbs of torqe for every time those bolts were used but dont go past 9 extra pounds (i would only use them 3 times then replace them). but that is if i use that head, me i would just get anthor one that one you have now sounds like it was warped pretty bad

ya the head was an ebay special, i was told the head was in great condition, but that is not what my local machine shop told me when i took it to them, my original head was good but something got into one of my cam journals and screwed it all up machine shop said they could not fix it.. so i dont know what i need to do now,
