Anyone have any RECOMENDED websites for rebuilt motors? I priced out a short block at Discount Auto Parts and they quoted me 1800 (short block) after core. Thats insane. I checked johnsforeignmotors and they ran around 1300 plus shipping. I could rebuild my motor.. but don't have the time for the truck to be down for that long.. so any help is appreciated.

1300 isn't that bad for a rebuilt. When I rebuilt mine last year I had it bored so I bought new pistons and replaced everything. I had around 1400.00 in parts and machine shop labor and I put it all together myself.

YEAH $1300 ISN'T BAD, I CHECKED AT GROOMS ENGINE IN NASHVILLE, AND THEY QUOTED ME $1800 BUT IT CAME W/ A WARRANTY & I THINK THEY GET THEIRS FROM TOPLINE ANY HOW....
CHECK HERE THEY WANT $1317 FOR ONE.... GOOD LUCK HUNTING!

i just had my engine re-built, get it back friday i hope. its been down for 3 weeks i think, buts its gonna definitly be worth the wait. its been hard for me to find a ride and all but, i just dont know if i would trust someone over the net. jus b/c you dont know how they did it, what they used, if they took their time. the guy that did mine build the engines for my uncles race cars(dirt track and he wins almost every race) so i know its gonna be good. i would just take it to someone you trust rather than order one unless its from the dealer, but thats just me
