hey im pretty sure the ticking is from the rocker arms what torq specs should they be at and specs?

A B2000 with adjustable rocker arms you set valve lash, not torque. I think its .11 cold but dont quote me.

For a B2200, there are no adjusters, it uses hydraulic lifter assemblies to automatically adjust the lash.

If you have a B2200 and it raps at startup, you may have low oil pressure, or more likely the little oil hole on the HLA's is plugged up. You can remedy this most times by draining out a quart of oil and replacing it with ATF. ATF is just really detergent motor oil, and a lot thinner, so after a couple thousand miles it will clean the oil sludge out of the engine and may unstick the stuck HLA. You can also use a faster cleaner like a can of Seafoam in the oil (or even just regular old kerosene) but be careful of revving the engine, those additives thin the oil a LOT and you can spin a bearing pretty quick.

Yeah, the ATF trick works.
If it doesn't, you have to pull the rocker shafts off and pull the hla's one by one,
Press it between your thumb and index finger and see if it compresses.
If it is soft and you can compress it, it is loosing oil. You should not be able to compress it.
It is possible the ball check valve and oil passage is clogged not allowing pressurized oil to pass thru or the oil pump or the oil pressure relief valve spring is getting weak.
To clean, you need a paper clip to poke into hole with the ball check valve and dip in a container filled with solvent while pressing it between your thumb and index finger. You should see old dark oil coming out.
When done cleaning, do the same thing but in a container filled with motor oil until it gets hard to squeeze. Then reinstall. It should be good to go.
Make sure you check for excessive wear on the hla plunger tip and discard it when worn.
Good luck.

oh yea its an 87 b2200

hydraulic lifter assembly

you should have the head checked for leaks at a shop

aight thanks but is there any thing i can check o usually mess with 350s and 302s not a maz motor

I put some shit im my motor called seafoam it worked great my motor is really quiet now I think the ticking is due to the lifters sticking. Its like 5.99 but well worth it. I also poured some down the carburetor it seemed to clean it out as well.

I get tick at cold start up,for anywhere from 30 sec to 2 mins, but I'm running a heavier oil (10w30) and engine stop leak because I'm got an oil leak either from my crank pulley or my timing cover.
