hey guys had a question does anyone no were the fuelpump relay is for a 89 b2200if so that would be great i think something fucked up with mine and i'm not sure were it is.

i think the pump is mechanical on the side of the head, but im not sure, my fuel pump relay is in the drivers kick panel, mines a 92 fuel injected

Unless its fuel injected, which an 89 wouldnt be I dont think. There is no fuel pump relay. There are no wires going to the fuel pump. Fuel pump is on the back of the passenger side of the head...at least my 89 was.

thanks guys ya i'm having problems getting power to the fuelpump i'm getting power but not enough since i put my fourlink and mounted the tank at the back i'm not getting the proper voltage i've tryed everything thats why i was thinking maybe there was a certsin fuse or relay maybe i blew .

So its fuel injected?

u probably have a bad ground wire, if the problem started after the u moved the tank then its something in the wiring out back

no it's carburrated ya thats what i was thinking bad ground i'm going to my shop this week end to start on the custom interior so while thats out i'm going to check a few things.

check the ground on ur fuel pump, i had the same exact problem, it was getting a full 12 volts but the fuel pump it self wasnt getting a proper ground, as soon as i grounded it worked fine

there are a few carbureted Mazda B's with electric in tank pumps. Some early 87 ext cabs with automatics seem to be the most likely.

But very few, and not ALL 87 ext cab automatics, because my truck had a manual pump and it was an 87 ext cab auto.

Most have a camshaft driven pump mounted at the rear right (looking forward, left if looking from the front of the truck) of the cylinder head.

The electric pumps dont ground with a wire per se, there is a wire coming out of the tank from the pump but it terminates on the mount. If you moved the tank, you have to be sure the tank itself is grounded, it works like a big wire, the ground path from the frame travels through the metal of the tank and to the point the fuel pump is grounded. I cut the wire at the screw on the tank and grounded it to the frame myself.

the tank does not have to be grounded in order for the fuel pump to work this i know i just relocated my tank and i sat it on the concrete and the fuel pump still worked, the ground thats running from the frame is for the sending unit.
