so im in the process of re-locating my gas tank fairly easy job we get the gas tank out, snip the 2 wires extend all the lines and the wires hook the wires back up and the lines to the corret place, try to start the mazda and nothing, it turns over it just aint getting gas, some have said its fuel pump but what the hell it worked 3 days ago?

anyone know if there is an inline fuse or something running on the 1983 mazda b-2000 any help if greatly appreciated i need it back on road assap

i don't think you would have a inline fuse if its carb'd, it should just have
a mech fuel pump. are you absolutely sure that after extending the fuel lines you hooked them back up right, cause if there is a return line, and you put it on the fuel delivery side, it won't get fuel to the pump. if they are hooked up right then the pump might need to be primed somehow, or in the process you could have shook some trash loose and it cloged the fuel filter...

hope you get it fix'd tho!

already fixed, needed new fuel filter and the fuel pump wasnt getting a good ground

the mechanical fuel pump does not have any wires

are you talking about the sending unit on the gas tank?

Mark, you can buy electric fuel pumps for carbureted engines.
Those mechanical pumps don't seem to last very long.
How many times have you replaced your fuel pumps? twice already?
Next time we will try the electric one.
