I had a machine shop by me rebuild mine last year. I think it was around 275.00 and they did a valve job replaced a couple valve guides and machined the surface. Call around and see what machine shops around you would charge.

hey bro you can't just slap on new valves, etc. you have to get the head machined to match up the new valves so they will seat correctly.

just check with a local machine shop for prices, that'd be your best bet

You can buy a remanufactured one for around 300. Try Cylinder Heads International. or shop EBay.

just make sure you replace the head bolts, i know a lot of people say you dont have to, but i just spent about $200 to have my head rebuilt last summer, and didnt have new head bolts put in, the head warped from improper torque so now im back to square one

Get some valve grinding compound and do it yourself, its not hard to rebuild at long at the heads not cracked/warped. With the valve grinding compound you put some on the valve put the valve in the valve seat and put a drill on the other end just go at a moderate pace, will the part where the valves seats is all shinny agian, As for valve seals and everything else its not to big of a deal, You should be able to figure all that out on your own. Good luck bro!

dang, my machine shop took my head apart and ground the exhaust valves and decked the bottom for 30 bucks, he even put it back together for me, it didnt need new seals or anything, but $300 sounds high?

very tru, or you could even get some studs instead of bolts for more reliable / even torque pressure on the head.
