I know this might sound like a dumb question but what all is needed when swapping to a 302. I found a 302 that i'm going to pick up this week but wanted to know what all else i'm going to have to get. Basically just looking for a parts list. Any help would be great.

msd (or other type ignition)-take out the guess work
carb (if not on it or eletrical)
motor mounts
metal for tranny mount
radiator and hoses
have ur drive shaft cut down
u will want to do some small things like plugs, wires, filters, oil etc. I don't know thats all i can think of right now.

I still have an Ultimate Customs 5.0L swap kit. Its $275 USD plus shipping. Let me know if you want it.

does your motor swap kit have the auto or manual trans mount?
matts156   +1y
That's a lot of torque for the small rear axle in the B2200. You might need to look into a rearend swap.

Went through 3 stock Mazda rear ends in 7 years. Once you got any wheel hop the rear end would blow. Took a few different suspension setups to get it right but in the end it worked sweet. Save the money and keep it stock (at first anyways). Invest in a good rad and insulator for the inside of the cab. Mine ran at about 195 on average and it was about the same temperature at the drivers seat. Crazy hot.

The kit comes with the motor mounts, hardware and instructions.

You don't need to cut anything from the cab or tranny tunnel. I used a mazda drive shaft with the ford spline on the one end (never had a problem). Other things that you might want to check out are:

Cross drilled/slotted rotors (The stock ones will warp in not time)
electric fans (a must)
exhaust

and its late and thats all that I can think of right now.

the ford duraspark ingnition is pretty simple to hook up i'll try and get the wiring diagram from a buddy.

Yea i have the duraspark ignition in my truck with the 351 winsor, I would deff go that route you just have to runa good sized key on hot to the ignition box then your distributor, coil and the rest of the engine bay wiring will just plug in from there. If you have any questions just pm me or hit me up on aim LowRidinMazda16 is my s/n.
