"MazdawgyDawg" is wanting to convert his truck to carb from FI, will someone help me convince him that it would be much easier to just swap the intakes then to sale his FI engine and put a carb engine in....

dougys a fruit, its about installing a better engine then the one i have an converting the whole drivetrain just to make it cheaper, instead of paying $200 total for a 92-93 driveshaft and hanger bearing, i could spend $65 and use the 86 one i got with the rear end, tranny and carbed engine i can pick up cheap, and for thoose who dont know YES 92-93 does have a diffewrent drive shaft

why not just switch the trannies?

it has a diff shaft? whats the diff.

i have an 89 2peice shaft in mine. my factory 92 center ujoint was going out. put it in 2months ago. mounts up the same.

86-93 mazdas came with 2 types that i have seen. 2peice (diff. varieties, some with dust shields, etc. but have similar mounts and lengths) and some mazdas came with a 1peice driveshaft

if u switch the tranny u gotta switch the rear end too, and there not the same, i know because i went to mazda and the hanger bearings were different and everything, urs is also a std cab mine is ext cab from what i heard they ARE different from the mazda dealer ship, and others that would know alot about mazdas such as mazda inthusests from this site and other sites

no the drive shafts are different at the yokes, the diff is different only cuz the a.b.s. sensor in the rear end, trust me ive had this problem too, i tryed to use one from an 89, the yokes on the ends are different, but if u wait long enough you'll find one D.J your not driving the truck for another 2 years, and u told me u wanted to put a v8 in it, anywho im sure one will pop up sooner or later just dont do something stupid, i know your a kid and all but think wisely, im sure one will turn up, and if i find one u will be the frist to know

hmm, maybe im an odd ball. my 92 has abs, i used one from an 89. bore and everything fit on the rear end, and the yoke slipped right in.

its a given that the ext cabs have longer shafts than ex. i was including that in the 2peice shaft category. didnt know they had diff. yokes. maybe it's just for the ex cabs? havent owned one yet, so i dunno lol.
