Will this engine possibly fit?

Im in the middle of parting a 1993 mercury capri
has the maz/ford 1.6l turbo motor in it.Its complete and it runs.

is it possible?
shares alot of parts with the mazda 323

anythings possible man!

only problem i see is that it is a FWD engine.....but so is the probe engine and it is a common swap, so who knows......

my suggestion would be to find a festiva to bolt it into

well since its pretty much free i thought its worth a shot.

just have to see if my mech is interested in doing the swap

i thnik the trannys out of the miatas will bolt up to that motor, they do share alot of parts, u can make it fit probably making a custom bell housing

^^ i beleive mike is right. i am pretty sure the capri engine and the miata engine are the same with a few variations......dont quote me though

ok, after doing some searching on , i have found out that yes, 1.6 miata engines and 1.6 capri engines are the same block.....

that said, you would need to

-notch the firewall for the distributor
-buy a miata trans, clutch, and flywheel
-make new engine and trans mounts
-build an exhaust system
-wire it up

that should be it....

another option would be to pick up a 1.6 miata engine/transmission and swap the turbo system onto it.....
