the bare head castings are the same, but the rest of the assemblies are different, one with manual lifters (b2000), and the other with hydraulic lifters (b2200) the oil passages on the b2200 setup are larger to provide more lubrication for the hyd lifter setup. so if you use a b2000 head and want to use the b2200 valve train, you will have to open up the the oil passages as explained on the site there is some very informative stuff on there about our engines. best bet is if you use a b2000 head, keep its valve train intact, if you use a b2200 head keep its valve train intact. some peeps like to use the manual lifters because the hydraulic ones have a tendency to get stopped up and you get the notorious mazda valve train tick. other than that, be careful of the $100 dollar head, it might be cracked as well....
good luck with the fix!!
