I got a 1987 mazda b2000 with a swap and what i believe is the stock rear end. The gearing is all sorts of whack and it needs a new rear end. prolly a bigger one... Any suggestions on a really skinny rear end with decent gearing for a truck with a decent motor...

rear end's out of 4wd yotas, you can get several diff gear ratios, 3.58:1, 3.909:1, 4.10:1, & 4.11:1, they are a little beefier, and have limited slip which is a plus with a v8 and you can keep the 6lug pattern, also can get a disc brake swap from downey off road.

when i build a v8 for mine soon, i'm gonna be building either a ford 9" or a ford 8.8". either way, it'll be narrowed and whatnot. might want to look into that.

Yea man thats the rear end i was debating putting in it. I just dont want to much torque due to the motor and screw a rear end up that cant take it. Is there not a rear end that is narrow enough to use without getting it cut?

i'm not sure on the stock width of any car or truck 9" rearends, or the width of any of the 8.8"s. there might be one that is narrow enough stock to fit under a mazda. i'm, not sure. i've already tubbed my bed, and gonna build a sfbd frame where the back will be tubbed also. gonna put some meats on the back, and eventually get some rims with a big lip on the back, so i'm narrowing whatever rearend i go with either way.

i have been told that the rearend from a fox body mustang is about the right width....

i think i heard that the ranger rearends that were 8.8 is a inch shorter than the mazdas and the mustangs rearend is like 3 inchs shorter
