OK, whats up guys 88b2200lx strange leaking last week truck shifted fine, then last wednesday at lunch it wouldnt go into gear at all, thank goodness it was just the clutch fluid so i added some more worked perfect again, so i was talkin with the old father and he said it might be a bad slave cylinder, well i got to thinkin and talkin with someguys but its leaking kinda at the front of the truck does this seam right??? it doesnt leak near the transmission at all or where you pour the dot3 fluid in..;.... but at the front of the truck. so i checked my oil stick oil was fine, radiotor was fine but i dont know if it could be a hose or what i'm gonna replace the clutch slave cylinder hopefully this week, any suggestions???????

thanks i'm no mechanic

What color was the fluid?Brake fluid or clutch fluid is clear and thin. Rad fluid is green or reddish brown if you are using Dextron and also thin. Tranny fluid is dark brown or greyish color and thick. If it is close to a tire it may be a bad wheel cylinder. If it is close to the front of the engine and green, you have a leaking water pump.BJ

well it is dark kinda black but when i fill up for the clutch slave it is clear after a day it turned to black, i bought a new slave cylinder today at lunch for 18.53 from advance i'm gonna replace that this week, but i agree with you mazdabon2nd it could be just runnin down the block i hope thats the only thing wrong......

so are you having to keep adding clutch fluid?

check the line running from the master cylinder (where you pour the clutch fluid in). it should be a silver aluminum line. Trace this line about half way across the engine bay and it should turn into a rubber hose. sometimes that hose will be dry rotted and will crack and leak. check that hose if you have replaced the master and slave cylinder and it is STILL leaking. also check the rubber line that connects to the slave cylinder
