2.2 with a 2.0 trany

So my engine is about done. I have a 86 2.0. Would a 2.2 engine fit my transmition like an easy bolt up. Thanks

i dont see why not, from what i understand the only difference between the 2.0 and the 2.2 is basically the heads, so if that is true then the trannys should be the same

different gear ratios? no? different size engines, not by much, but still slightly different...

it would be a direct bolt up, you will have to change out the engine mounts tho. as for difference, the heads are the same, the block is just taller to compensate for the added length in stroke.

i put a 2.2 in my truck with my stock 2.0 transmission

i had a 89 B2200 tranny in my 86 B2000 (with the 2.0) i think the tranny supports are differnt not sure (the 2 supports that bolt to the block and the lower 2 holes on the tranny)
