86 2.0 into 92 b2200

Does anyone know how hard it would be to do this? I have a 86 b2000 that runs but needs alot of bodywork, and just came across a 92 b2200 with a bad engine. Both have the 5 speed transmissions. I am new to Mazdas(first attempt at one). Have built a couple of s10's in the past.

if the swap is possible will have the 86 for sale for parts.

swap the complete motor, tranny, and driveshaft in. it will be a straight drop in. may have to swap rear ends as well if the bore on the driveshaft end is different.

dude why downgrade from fuel injection to gutless carb

Mostly because i dont want to spend the money to buy another engine when I have one that already runs. Trying to build a decent mini on a very low budget, except for the bagging when i get that far.

found out that the guy told me wrong, the cab plus is not fuel injected it is carb . but other than that still have not had the time to fool with it. may this weekend. seems strange to me he said it was locked up, but i can't even get the starter to click. so will try and find out more info.

Posted this on the new members thread also. got a few min to work on it and got it running. the old guy did not apparently know what he was talking about. put the starter back on, put new plugs in it and added a quart of Lucas and she fired up. runs ruff and smokes but runs none the less. So looks like i will not have to swap engines or heads after all.

Now to just lower it and primer it.

Yea it made my day. Paid 300 bucks for the truck expecting to have to replace the engine.

when i got my 86 the guy siad he had no idea what was wrong with it(he let it set for 2 years) when i got it home i let it set for anthor 2 months befor i got around to working on it only thing that was wrong with it the Alt was bad got it rebuilt for 50 bucks and it started the frist time
