HERAD THAT YOU CAN PUT A CHEVY/GMC 305 V8 ENGINE IN A MAZDA IT HAS 260 HP SO I SOUNDS GOOD CAN IT BE DONE?????????

anything can be done, depends how much work u wanna do

i wouldnt bother. its not fast. our trucks could keep up with my buddys 88 305 cutlass. go with a 302. thats ALOT faster. i know this becaause my other bud has a gt stang, 5.0, bored 30 over, full k&n, headers, flowmaster super 40s....yeah its fast. -bf

it depends on what 305 your using, what year, tranny, and what mods you do, if you use a 305 get an old one, go as early as possible really, like 60's or 70's style, thats when they had power, or get a full size pick-up 305 and trans, they have good torque, thats what i just picked up, and ive got some goodies for it already, such as a hurst lightning rod 3 rod shifter

dont downgrade the guy for trying something for all we know he prolly got a fullblow motor and trans for free and is gonna try to put it in, yes its not the best but hey go for it man

it can work. my buddy had a 350, and 327 installed into his b2200

what would the "best" motor for some one to swap into a mazda?

The easier v 8 swap in the our trucks is the 289/302. The dist is in the front and the tranny bolts in in almost the same exact spot if you are using a stick trans from a mid year mustang(79-93 foxbody).Plus there are bunch companies that sell kits as complete or as bare as you want.

regardless as to what year it is its still a v-8, still a swap, still looks cool, and gives bragging rights.
if you got it for free, thats awsome, i paid $100, but had some parts around for it

would you need a new rear diff? I've heard the stock mazda's are pretty hefty, but can you put lsd in them? or if I put a 302 in and ran it pretty hard, would I basically blow the stock (87 b2000) rear to pieces?
