bypassing heater core??

I wanna bypass the heater core because I think it has a leak, can I just run a straight hose from the engine hoses that go into the fire wall?? Will this affect anything?? Not worried about using heater or a/c.

im not totally sure on mazda cuase I never did it on one, but if there is the 2 hoses that come off the water pump that go to the firewall, just take on of them and connect it back to the water pump. I did this on my 71 Valiant cuase my heater core is shot.

on the mazdas the coolant lines that run into and out from the heater core are coming form the manifold. just find those lines and connect them together with a rubber line. should be good to go.

SHOULD BE ALRIGHT, IT'LL JUST SUX CAUSE THE DEFROSTER WON'T WORK AS WELL.
