I was wondering if it's possible to remove the cross member that go's right under the oil pan. So I could replace my oil pan gasket seeing as it is SHOT and leaks really bad.. Thanks LeDevil

I Don't think so -think they're rivited factory .. Wonder if you could just unbolt the pan and slide it backwords ( Bare with me its been a while sense i've been under my truck ,,, tells you how long thats been when i can't really remember how the crossmember goes lol )

yes you can it is held in with 4 nuts and bolts but ill tell yea its a PITA to get back in and the pan itself its hard to get off to if its never been removed

it can be done w/o removing the x-member but it's a pain, but the bigger pain is trying to get the x-member back in afterwards.....

It will unbolt.Mark which is front side because as has been posted above it is difficult to get back in.Shop manual says to remove the crossmember to get pan out as otherwise u r going to have to force the pan which may damage it.BJ

So I'm supposed to drop the cross member to get the pan out? I mean that is what the shop manual says, right?
