I just installed a new weber 34 on my '90 b2200 ... and had da same frickin problem. The darn (stock) throttle cable was 3 to 4 inches too short! So now what? I went to the bone yard and bought a $10 throttle cable off of a '90 Mazda 323. But it's another foot longer than my original cable ... and figuring out what to do with the extra cable - where to route it without bending it too much ... is a huge challenge. You obviously can't bend da darn cable too much or it won't function. Plus, the weber 34 linkage is located towards the front of the truck, so the cable runs right on/over the top of the valve cover by the oil cap - another problem. And ... the new throttle cable bracket that comes with da weber doesn't seem to work with the stock cable like the orig stock bracket did. Huh. Has anyone tried a cable from a b2600? At this point, I dunno whether I should abandon the weber 34 and opt for a weber 38 (which apparently has the linkage toward the rear of the truck like the stock one did), or what. (FYI: I have headers ... and I've read the 38 would be a better bet ... despite giving up gas mileage ... which is no big deal to me.) Any advice for me? Help! Thanks.
