The FE3 is a tranny out of a mx6. I believe is does bolt right up to b2000 and b2200 tranny bellhousing for rwd applications? correct me if im wrong.

yes

does that go for 1983 mazda b-2000s as well

Ok, and the Bellhousing for the 83-84 b2000 are interchangable with 86-93...so what does that tell me.

what about the tailshaft on the fe3? is it the same as the 83 mazda, cause i do no the tail shafts on 86-93 mazdas are bigger than mine my 83

actually the fe3 is the mazda engine from a 95-02 kia sportage, 79-84 mazda b2000's had ma engines, 85-87 mazda b2000's had fe engines, 87-93 b2200's had f2 engines, not sure of the tranny designations, but i know that the fe & f2's use the same bellhousings, i think that the ma engines are different, i know that the tranny's are. now the 88-92 mx6's had the same f2 engine as the b2200's so those trannys should be interchangeable, atleast should bolt to the engine, i don't know about the tailshaft & if it is adaptable to our driveshafts....you can use a series 4 tranny from 86-88 non turbo rx-7 or series 5 tranny from 89-91 non turbo rx-7's & the bellhousing from a tranny out of a 86-93 truck.

hope this helps..

actually i don't think this will work with your engine slammed83 since it is an ma block & your trannys input shaft is shorter than that of the 86-93 trucks or the rx-7's (per info from mazdatrucking.com)......they will work with a fe or f2 block tho...sorry....& you would be hard pressed to get some one to make a new tail shaft for the tranny as that is actually a part of it.....if you want to swap to a newer tranny you'll probably have to swap out to a newer engine & tranny combo, then have a driveshaft made for that application, which i think would be a kool setup in the older bodystyle trucks like yours!!

thank you sir.

i was actually thinking about doing a 86-93 motor swap and the stock tranny on them and the driveshaft and getting the rear end to cause there geared better than mine.

parts would be easier and such but i need to hear the engine run and tahts gonna be the problem for me with junkyards around here

Hmm, that would be an idea!
