since it's really hot outside, i last used 10W-30. Mobil 1. if it stays this hot, near 100's. but i normally run 5W-30

i wouldnt switch to synthetic unless you are running synthetic, from what i have been told its bad to do that, but i could be wrong, but i run 10w30 in my truck

Yes use that.

if your truck has been running on regular oil for more than 50,000 miles, i would not suggest switching to synthetic. when the engine is use to mineral oil and you switch to synthetic the synthetic will make your seals break up causing you to burn up your engine faster. even when you rebuild the engine you will want to run regular mineral oil for at least 2 to 3 oil changes before switching to synthetic, but if you do not switch to synthetic before so many miles than just keep running the same old stuff. learned this in a&p school.

Wow... Switching to synthetic at 220 was a bad idea...
