I am challenged with pictures,so will try to use words. With an open air filter u have negated the air flow down to ur exhaust system,so all that pollution crap is useless(the three metal tubes plus square valve in front of air cleaner).U left the metal snorkle on the cleaner so now u r picking up hot air off the exhaust manifold.Put the plastic snorkle extension back on or take the metal part off.Useless.The large black beercan looking thing on the pass.side fender well is a charcoal canister from the gas tank. Dont screw with it unless u want gas fumes in ur engine bay/cab.NO-No. There is a fuse box on the pass.side fender well right behind the charcoal cannister.Leave it alone ,truck will not run without it.Rest of that stuff is pollution crap.If u dont have inspection where u r it is just extra weight.Hope this helps.Great on the balls at 4 grans-mine still sounds like projectiles will fly soon at 3.5 grand-oh well.BJ

Block em off.The smoke and noise is coming from exhaust system. Most folks here take off the metal parts all the way down to the exhaust pipe and weld the holes shut. U can just find three big bolts, screw them in the rubber hose outlets and clamp them in place. Looks like crap but it works. BJ

Remove the breather to, put a little cone filter on it from the autoparts store and pull the plastic filter holder out of the intake housing. Its rendered useless

dont take the vaccum hoses off that are routed to the passanger sside fender well the truck will run like CRAP unless you havea weber definitly trim up the aircleaner housing so the tube going to the driver side is not right over the exhaust our trucks dont make gobbs of power and you gettin all that hot air is definatly not helping you the cooler the air you can get to the carb the more ponies youll make

all the hoses help control the carb the computer tells the carb how much strain is being put on the motor and the carb goes from there but once you ge thte weber you cando away with everything on the fender well except the wiring harness which goes to the wiper unless you gettin rid of them then you can take the wiring harness too

the two hoses that you marked red run down past the cat on the manifold to the collector "turn back" pipe...the one in green runs up under the manifold & ties into it. all are gonna spew smoke as your truck is old & there is a lot of carbon build up in the exhaust...by taking those pipes off the aircleaner / reed valve assembly you just created three exhaust leaks.....you can pull those three pipes all the way off, but you will have to get some acorn nuts & cap off the holes on the manifold....also take some bolts or nuts & jb weld them to the exhaust collector where the two "red" pipes run, use jb weld because you cant weld cast metal & expect it to hold.....then you can get rid of the air cleaner...there is a couple vac hoses attached to the bottom of it....one will go to the pcv valve...i think you will just plug the other smaller one........i would consider all of this is just a temp fix until you get a weber/holley & pacesetter as the exhaust is bound to leak & need re-patching over time, & a weber / holley is just the way to go on these motors as the stock carb is an unadjustable pain in the wazoo!

Ahhh...I love my little MA engine. I took off all my emissions stuff and I am reading almost all zeros on the emissions tests. Just two manafolds and a carb baby.

Ah yes, the carb'd B2000! I miss mine, even tho she sits dead in the drive way, LOL! I been thru what you are talking about. I removed the entire air cleaner assy. and replaced it with an adapter from my local autoparts to mount a round after market filter base. I plugged the vacuum hoses that connected to the air cleaner and tied them up with black zip-ties. As for the three metal hose/pipe assembies, I cut all three just shy of where they connected down stream and then creased them shut with a hammer and vise grips. Crimped them good!! LOL! She ran like a scalded cat after that! Hope this helps you out..............L8RS!
